Camera Display

A comprehensive collection of photographic equipment in showcases is housed in this room, including artefacts from keen photographer, Dr J.M. Andrew of Yallourn, and the original projector from the Yallourn Cinema.

The first photographs were Daguerreo-types, or less commonly Ambrotypes, both where the photographs were printed on glass and enclosed in a solid, and often ornamental, case. These were followed, from the 1860s, by photographs on paper, pasted to cardboard.
