Old Gippstown is set on 8 acres of park land, housing our heritage buildings and collections. There are many artefacts, including a number of stationary engines on display in the gardens.
One of the largest is the notable 1909 Fowler Steam Traction Engine situated between the shearing shed and ‘Ashdale’ Farmhouse and was used around the Bundalaguah/Myrtlebank area with James Hammill’s threshing machine and collected from Boisdale in 1970. Old Gippstown has a number of portable engines in its collection, including two Clayton & Shuttleworth engines, now housed at the other end of the Park.
There is also a collection of old bullock-drawn logging buggies/jinkers and a house moving rig displayed in the gardens, as well as a horse-drawn Furphy water tank.
