Old Gippstown has probably the largest public collection of original century-old horse-drawn vehicles in Victoria in its museum. These can be identified by interpretive signage beside each vehicle, showing the name and history of each exhibit. Vehicles included in the Horse-Drawn Vehicles Museum include a Station Express Cart, Pony Phaeton, American Speed Cart, Governess Cart, Farmer’s Dog Cart, Double Brougham Coach, Coal Box Buggies, Baker’s Van, WWI Mark VI Ambulance and General Service Wagon as well as a Furphy Water Tank.
Our original horse-drawn vehicles collections also include an old glass-fronted Landau, Jinkers, Carts, Buggies, Drays, Butcher’s Cart, Mourning Coach and Hearse, a Hawker’s Van, a working vehicles display and other vehicles, on show in the old Coach House and at other locations around the park.
